A series of major road renovation projects will improve the quality of transport in Nógrád County.

Four and five-digit roads are being renovated in Nógrád County by Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt. is renovating four- and five-digit roads in Nógrád County, with the complete renovation of more than 37 kilometres of secondary roads on 20 road sections launched as part of the Regional and Local Development Operational Programme (TOP) Plus, the company announced on Thursday.

The projects will be implemented with the help of a gross HUF 8.558 billion non-repayable grant from the European Union under three grant agreements, according to the announcement.

Among other things, the 2.084-kilometre section of the Salgótarján-Kazár connecting road marked 2302 was renovated at a cost of 370 million forints. In addition to replacing the road structure and reinforcing the pavement in the inner and outer areas of the administrative territory of Kazár, the drainage system next to the road and the culverts were cleaned, and one of the bridges on the section was completely renovated, while the other was partially renovated. A bus shelter was also built during the investment.
