The second part of the construction site of the BYD factory in Szeged was handed over
The municipality has handed over the second part of the land for the construction of the electric car plant of Chinese BYD in Szeged, announced Mayor László Botka at the Assembly's meeting on Friday.

The site has been cleared of ammunition, archaeological excavations have been completed and the replacement and extension of the electrical network is nearing completion. In early October, the municipality handed over 161 hectares of land for the construction of the plant. The remaining 15 hectares of the investment area will be handed over by the end of the year.
Tamás Kovács, deputy mayor for economic affairs, said that the car factory will pay the city the purchase price of the land, and the municipality will repay the state subsidies it spent on the acquisition and development of the land.
