The STRABAG is refurbishing classrooms at three schools in Hungary
The STRABAG Klassz Room programme has been launched, according to a press release from the construction company. With the company’s support, three primary schools in Hungary will be able to modernise their classrooms to meet today’s educational requirements. The aim of the initiative is to ensure that the learning environment is not merely a backdrop, but actively supports children’s concentration, collaboration and everyday school experiences. .
They are creating flexible spaces
The programme centres on the concept of the Creative Learning Space, which goes beyond a simple aesthetic upgrade.
In these flexibly configurable rooms, traditional rows of desks can be replaced by movable furniture, floor cushions and solutions designed to support group work and project-based learning.
Depending on the schools’ requirements, the refurbishment may include the installation of projectors, the fitting of modern lighting and shading systems, as well as painting, floor replacement and the replacement of doors and windows.
The learning environment is a key factor in performance and motivation
Speaking about the STRABAG Klassz Room programme, Tímea Rákosi, Head of the Economic Division, said: „We firmly believe that the quality of the learning environment has a direct impact on children’s motivation and performance. We are channelling our expertise in the construction industry into a project that serves future generations.”
The winning projects will be implemented during the summer holidays
Applications for the competition can be submitted between 20 April and 17 May 2026 exclusively online via the STRABAG website. Following a formal review, a draw conducted in the presence of a notary public will select the ten schools that will proceed to the public voting stage, which will take place between 25 May and 7 June 2026. The results will be announced on 8 June, and the refurbishment of the classrooms at the three winning schools will take place during the summer holidays, so that pupils can take possession of the refurbished spaces by 31 August 2026 at the latest.
