The Terrán roof tile portfolio has been refreshed, with the previously popular Danubia now available again. The range has been one of the company's flagship products for some years, and the continued popularity of the corrugated models makes the return of the old-new model even more justified. The popular shape replaces the Renova Plus, with a wider range of colours to choose from. Government programmes to help with roof renovation make it even easier to modernise your home, and the Danubia can be paired with almost any style.

Wavy lines are a hallmark of classic and Mediterranean design when it comes to roof tiles. At the same time, they often appear in contemporary architectural solutions, as their clean lines and homogeneous surface design allow them to be easily integrated into any style. The Terrán offers a variety of solutions for those who prefer a more dynamic form, and is updating its portfolio with a former favourite, Danubia.

The Renova Plus is being discontinued, and the range now includes Brick, Brown, Anthracite and Natural colours, as well as a new Dark Grey shade.

Beyond the cover image

In addition to the appearance of the roof and the atmosphere it conveys, there is also a functional difference between corrugated and flat tiles. For higher rainfall masses, water run-off is more optimal with Danubia, Synust or Coppot, and the higher point of groove connection and pitch angle also play a role in preventing rain and melted snow from causing problems.

For low-pitched roofs with an angle of less than 25 degrees, the corrugated model is ideal.

In addition, the arches also provide more space for air movement under the roof tiles, which prevents condensation and increases the lifetime of the timber structure. It is important to emphasise that the addition of modern ventilation tiles can maximise the ventilation of the roof.

Whether new or renovated

When building a roof, the roof structure (quantity of rafters, spacing, thickness of counter- and tile battens) can be adapted to the chosen tiles, but if the roof is in good condition and only the cladding is to be replaced, the existing conditions should be taken into account when choosing new tiles.

In the Terrán range, the spacing and the number of tiles per square metre of the Zenit Max are almost identical to those of the corrugated products, with major differences being found for the Rundo. It is therefore always advisable to consult a structural engineer or a roofing specialist before replacing the sheathing.

However, it is important not to ignore the HÉSZ, as regulations can also influence the direction we take.

Renovation with grants

The various relevant state subsidies are of considerable help in financing roof renovation. Under the Rural Home Renovation Programme, in settlements with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants, up to HUF 3 million in subsidies and interest subsidies, and up to HUF 6 million in loans, can be obtained without energy requirements.

Under the Energy Efficiency Home Renovation Programme, in addition to the HUF 1 million co-payment, up to HUF 3 million in non-refundable grants and the same amount in interest-free loans are available, while with the Village CSOK, those with children can apply for up to HUF 7.5 million in grants for properties in preferred small villages or in rural areas.

In addition, the tax-free use of voluntary pension funds for housing purposes and the workers' loan of up to HUF 4 million provide scope for modernisation.
