Hotel construction in Pápa, planned for decades, can start

Plans were already in place in 2009 to expand the services of the Várkertfürdő in Pápa with a hotel, and in 2021 we reported that a hotel designer was being sought. Four years later, the implementation of the Pápai Termálvízhasznosító Zrt. investment can finally begin, for which tenders are being accepted for very specific works.

From foundations to implementation in one hand

The winner will have 18 months to complete the entire construction, from excavation to the installation of the last switch - and even the chairs and tables.

The works for the construction of the 60-room, four-star hotel building to be built on a development site near Várkertfürdő include, among others, earthworks, installation of reinforced concrete slabs, precast concrete and floating screed, with 4865m² of thermal insulation under the concrete sub-base. This will be followed by the installation of 132 opening bridges and the construction of the load-bearing masonry over some 3 000 m². The partition walls will be constructed with Silka HMLF.

In addition to the installation of 100 plastic exterior windows, the winning bidder will also be responsible for the insulation of 1508 m² of the façade and the flat roof on 1786 m², the installation of two lifts, the creation of a building surveillance and security centre, and even the design and installation of a mobile phone antenna.

Even furniture must be bid for

The winning bidder will have to install 214 pieces of built-in furniture in the building, but will also be responsible for a total of 1,320 pieces of lighting, furniture and accessories, including desks, chairs, armchairs and dining tables;

A total of 1355 items will be purchased.

Landscaping work around the building will also be required: weeding on 4749 m², scrub clearance on 225 m² and the felling of eight deciduous trees with stumps. During construction, the contractor will have to protect 17 deciduous trees and subsequently plant 59 trees.
