Paks II: video showing the work being done to prepare for the next crucial stage of construction

Work on the expansion of the Paks nuclear power plant is progressing faster than planned, according to a statement by the ministry on Tuesday in Moscow by Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The Paks II mega-project's Facebook page recently posted a video showing how ready-mixed concrete is prepared in the excavation pit for Block 5. As described on paks2.hu described, the concreting work is being carried out by the TITAN-2 with the involvement of the Hungarian-owned Bayer Construct Zrt. .

„The concrete plant is already operational, we have poured 500 square metres of structural concrete, and waterproofing is ongoing, so we will start installing the reinforcing steel next week, well ahead of the originally planned schedule, instead of next year, thus ensuring that the first concrete will be in the ground in early February,” said Péter Szijjártó in his statement today in connection with all this.
