The Szent László Catholic Primary School in Mórahalom is set to expand with new classrooms and communal spaces, following the conversion of the attic. The aim of the development is to provide modern facilities to cater for the growing number of pupils.

The St Gellért Catholic School Authority has published the results of the tender for the conversion of the attic at St László Catholic Primary School in Mórahalom on the public procurement portal. The construction work may be carried out by FERROÉP Zrt..

As part of the project, three classrooms and a group room are to be created in the existing disused attic, along with toilet facilities to accommodate the student body. The existing roof structure is not suitable for the intended purpose without modification

– as stated in the information.

Due to the layout and potential configuration of the three classrooms and the group room, it is necessary to replace all the main roof trusses and the column supports with steel frames, and to completely demolish the south-west roof extension, constructing a full-scale additional storey in its place. A 120 cm wide concrete staircase with two flights currently leads to the attic from the ground floor; this requires appropriate surfacing.
