Another milestone in the construction of the Soltvadkert bypass

Published

The construction of the bypass will significantly reduce through traffic on the inland section of the settlement.

The foundation stone for the Soltvadkert bypass was laid in October 2022. Work worth a net total of HUF 15.8 billion has been underway since spring 2022 on the construction of the SOLTÚT Kft. project, as the successor to NIF Zrt., in the Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium (ÉKM) investment.

As we previously reported, the investment includes the construction of five roundabouts, one separate-level railway crossing, one 0.8-kilometre-long access road and one bicycle underpass will be built, and mobile group checkpoints will also be implemented as part of the project.

The 8.8-kilometre-long track crosses the Budapest-Kunszentmiklós-Tass-Kelebia railway line No 150 at a separate level. The two-span, three-span, precast prestressed reinforced concrete bridge with prestressed reinforced concrete deck girders has a superstructure length of 46.89 metres.

According to a post on Soltvadkert's community page post on Soltvadkert's community page, the first elements of the overpass were installed in early August. According to the information provided, experts have found numerous artefacts during archaeological excavations related to the work, but construction is progressing at full speed along the entire route.

As we regularly report, the construction of the Budapest–Belgrade railway line is taking place at the same time as the construction of the bypass. At this stage of construction, traffic is not being disrupted, and traffic is flowing smoothly on both roads 53 and 54, according to the announcement.
