Minor road renovations have also started in the North Great Plain, with machines already working in the north-eastern corner of the country
The day before, the state-owned Magyar Közút Nzrt. held a press event in Jánkmajtis, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county. Here, the development programme for four- and five-digit roads in the region was officially launched: László Tasó, the ministerial commissioner for the development of road and rail transport in north-eastern Hungary, said that the project will see the complete reconstruction of more than 151 kilometres of secondary roads on 44 sections.
According to their information, under the TOP Plusz funds, the complete rehabilitation of some 151.5 kilometres of secondary roads will be launched on 44 sections.
The company is implementing the projects with the help of a gross EU grant of HUF 42.385 billion under 13 grant agreements. As part of the series of improvements, the Beregdaróc-Fehérgyarmat-Csengersima link road 4127 will be renewed over a stretch of almost 5 km.

The first phase is between kms 36+096 and 39+400, where the public procurement has been completed and the contractor was handed over the worksite on 16 June 2025, the development will take 150 days.The second phase, between kms 46+436 and 48+106, is currently in the preparation phase.
The part of the road between kms 36+096 and 39+400 runs entirely through the interior of Jánkmajtis. The section between kilometres 46+436 and 48+106 starts on the outskirts of Csengersima, 44 metres from the edge of the built-up area, and then runs through the interior of Csengersima to the junction with main road 49.
Main road connections and bridges will also be renewed
At the end of the section, the existing traffic island at the junction of the Highway 49 - 4127 will also be reconstructed. During the reconstruction works, asphalt grinding milling will be carried out on the existing pavement. Following preparation, the existing mastic pavement surface will receive two layers of graded asphalt reinforcement.
The projects also include the reconstruction of the Jánkmajtisi and Jánk canal bridges at km 38+124 and km 38+826 of the link road.
