The construction industry is preparing to renovate tens of thousands of homes under the Home Renovation Programme
After the details of the Home Renovation Programme, which will start on 1 July, became available on Monday evening details of the Home Renovation Programme, which will start on 1 July, were made available on Monday evening, the Építési Vállalkozók Országos Szakszövetsége (ÉVOSZ) announcement emphasised on Tuesday:
The range of Hungarian-made construction products and contractor capacity for renovations is available.
The public is also referred to the www.termekinfo.emi.hu database.
They pointed out that the programme will generate around 200 billion forints of construction work - which will provide the opportunity to renovate around 30,000 homes - mainly for micro and small enterprises.
How to achieve energy savings of almost one third
It was also pointed out that the 30% energy saving, which is a basic condition for the subsidy, can be achieved through different renovation methods. According to the association, a thorough preparation requires the assistance of experts, who take into account the technical characteristics of the property and the financial possibilities of the subsidy applicant.
In addition, it is recommended that the contractor should be involved as early as possible in the preparation for energy savings.
ÉVOSZ recommends companies registered on the ÉMI Építésügyi Minőségellenőrző Innovációs Nonprofit Kft. ofp.emi.hu page as contributors to the implementation of the support programme, as these companies can request an advance payment of up to 75 per cent of the available support amount for the purchase of materials and implementation of the renovation, for example, in the otherwise post-financed support programme.
Important to complete as many renovations as possible by autumn
They said that with a self-financing supplement to the subsidy amount, renovation can be carried out on a scale that can result in energy savings of up to 50 percent. To achieve this, ÉVOSZ urges manufacturers and distributors to register as many building products as possible in the scheme's information system, thus obtaining a simplified environmental certification for the product.
They added,
The rapid launch of the scheme will provide an opportunity to complete housing renovations with significant energy savings by this autumn's heating season.
Condominiums should also be included in the programme
ÉVOSZ estimates that there are around 2.2 million residential properties in Hungary that are eligible for the scheme. This is why it is important that the Home Renovation Programme is followed by others, building on the experience gained. For example, it is considered necessary that in the future condominium apartments should also be part of the renovation programme.
