During the project, KÉSZ Csoport’s subsidiary, MA-HARD Hajózási és Vízépítő Kft., carried out extensive work to renovate the water infrastructure and the riverside environment.

The development of the Fonyód passenger boat harbour has been completed under the KÉSZ Csoport project, which we previously wrote about here. We asked Béla Ármos, a member of the board of KÉSZ Holding Zrt. and CEO of KÉSZ Építő és Szerelő Zrt., and Attila Pappert, the business unit manager of KÉSZ Építő és Szerelő Zrt., about the details of the project, which covers an area of approximately 4,000 square metres.

As part of the project’s marine works, the existing western and eastern pier heads were refurbished and the pier walkway was raised. The passenger boat berth was expanded to accommodate three vessels, thereby increasing the port’s service capacity and operational flexibility.

The development is complete, featuring landscaping and new facilities

During the works, which covered an area of around 4,000 square metres, the paving was renewed, landscaped green spaces were created adjacent to the marina, and a modern public lighting and GIS system was installed; in addition, electric bike charging points and a small playground were also added to the site. The completed project thus improves both the port’s operations and the usability of the public space on the shores of Lake Balaton.
