Successful surgery on the capital's main artery

In a major interview extensive interview, Krisztián Áprily, who, as project director of SWIETELSKY Építő Kft., coordinated the works taking place at the nine stations. The ambitious project was carried out by the SWIETELSKY Metro Construction Division Béla Stipich, one of the most experienced professionals in the civil engineering sector, who had previously been involved in the construction of Metro Line 3.

In the citation accompanying the award, ÉVOSZ states:

Due to Budapest’s unique and extremely varied soil conditions, designers and contractors faced difficulties even during the construction phase, which posed an extraordinary challenge given the technological solutions, materials and available mechanical equipment that could be utilised at the time.

They added that the reconstruction was already a matter of urgency and could no longer be postponed, and that the designers and contractors had commendably done everything in their power to ensure that this key transport route in the capital could meet modern-day expectations and guarantee the smooth flow of traffic.

The reconstruction of the M3 metro line was one of the largest transport infrastructure projects in Hungary in recent years. The work was carried out to a high standard, requiring outstanding engineering solutions and extensive experience from those involved in the project.
