The biggest test in the development of the Hungaroring

Every day, 564 people are working on the Hungaroring development project, according to the investor's community page. As previously reported, Market Építő Zrt. and Bayer Construct will carry out the large-scale project between 2023 and 2026, with multiple interruptions - allowing the 2024 and 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix to be held.

After this year's Formula 1 race in Budapest, the second phase is now underway, with the

• the demolition and construction of the main atrium,
• rebuilding the event space,
• as well as the complete demolition of the paddock, the main building of the racetrack, and the handover of the new, ready-to-use building.

Huge amounts of soil moved

According to a post by Hungaroring, also published by Market, the construction of the complex's paddock area and main aisle will be completed at this pace by the end of January. "Over the past period, contractors have placed 20,885 cubic metres of concrete and 4,793 reinforcing steel in the two buildings," they write. At the same time, a huge amount of earth has been moved: 99,800 cubic metres for the cut and 33,875 cubic metres for the embankment.

According to earlier press reports, the biggest test of the multi-year project will be the period between this year's Hungarian Grand Prix and next year's.

„At this stage, a complete 280-metre-long building must be demolished and the foundations rebuilt in ten and a half months so that the pits can be used as intended for the 2025 Grand Prix,” explained Zoltán Juhász, technical director of Market Építő, earlier. who also gave a detailed interview to our newspaper.
