What is being built?
The street of market vendors in Zugló has been renovated
Parallel to the construction of the Zugló office district – Zenit by Bayer – a large-scale project is underway to rebuild the public spaces surrounding the investment. The developer Bayer Property and the contractor Bayer Construct Zrt. are carrying out significant transformations to the affected section of Csömöri Road, Rákospatak Street, Bosnyák Street, the Vezér Street junction and Bosnyák Square, among other areas.
New bus terminal built
As we learned from Márton Király, Senior Project Manager of Bayer Property:
A section of Rákospatak street between Csömöri út and Telepes utca has been renewed, and the new terminus for buses 110 and 112 has been built here, so the waiting buses at Bosnyák tér will be removed from Csömöri út. From 8 December, buses will run from Bosnyák tér to Rákos-patak.
During the works, a new cycle path was built parallel to the Rákospatak and new street lighting was installed.
As we reported earlier in a detailed article (https://magyarepitok.hu/mi-epul/2024/02/tizezrek-mindennapja-lesz-konnyebb-atalakul-a-bosnyak-ter), Csömöri Road between Nagy Lajos király útja and Rákos-patak will be completely rebuilt in the near future. Similar to the current road, a 2×1 lane road will be built, with public transport separated on a central axis, allowing buses to travel in a 2×1 lane bus lane on a protected route. At the same time, directional cycle lanes will be created, making Zenit and Rákos Creek easily accessible by bicycle.
Bosnyak Street and the local market have been given a worthy environment
As previously planned, Bosnyak Street has been completely renovated to accommodate the Friday-Saturday farmers' market. The works were carried out by Bayer Construct Zrt. while ensuring that the market could continue to operate.
In the future, residents will be able to approach their homes during the market, which was not possible until now, as the market was held with the street completely closed.
The complexity of the project was that, in addition to the development of the road network for the office district, Bayer Construct Zrt. also undertook the implementation of the market square, taking into account the needs of the Municipality of Zuckló. The total cost of the investment was HUF 2 billion.
Paved sales areas and green lanes have been created
The changes are striking: the central part of Bosnyak Street has been transformed into a market square, with paving and a tree-lined street on both sides. On the side of the office area Zenit, parking spaces have been created, with 2×1 lanes of traffic, and on the other side, a one-lane, one-way roadway will allow residents to access their homes during the market. A new layer of asphalt has been laid and a new pedestrian walkway has been built.
The district's camera system has been expanded in public areas to ensure public safety is monitored. New street lighting, drinking fountains and water points for market vendors have been installed.
The area in front of the Bosnyák Street side of the Bosnyák Square market has also been renewed. New water and sewer connections have been installed, which will allow for the construction of permanent pavilions in the future. At the same time, the connection system for the electricity network of the wholesale market has been renewed. The investment amounted to HUF 500 million.
