Hungary's largest pump track was inaugurated in Mezőkövesd. The facility was constructed by Northern Lines Kft., based in Sárospatak. Máriusz Révész, State Secretary for Active Hungary, also attended the inauguration. On the same day, a running track was also inaugurated in the town.

From the basics to the professional level

The new pump track was created as an addition to the adjacent skate park, forming a modern sports and leisure park, according to the contractor's website . The newly opened course features a separate children's course for the little ones, while more experienced riders can test their skills on an advanced, competition-level track.

One of the special features of the course is the larger-sized wooden jump, which allows participants to safely learn the basics of jumping.

The report emphasises that everyone can find their own path to development at the Mezőkövesd leisure park: from the basics to the professional level.

Over 350 metres in length

At the handover ceremony, Máriusz Révész announced that the government had already provided funding for the creation of 228 bicycle parks, of which around 160 have already been completed. As part of this year's tender, funding will be provided for the creation of a further 42 bicycle parks.

András Tállai, the Fidesz Member of Parliament for the region, announced that the Mezőkövesd track is the longest in the country at 355 metres. Zoltán Fekete, mayor of Mezőkövesd, announced at the handover ceremony that the total cost of the Mezőkövesd pump track investment was 74 million forints, while the 835-metre-long running track cost 101 million forints to build.
