New car parks and an access road are being built next to the Municipal Stadium at a cost of approximately 315 million forints. The development is being carried out by „KE-VÍZ 21” Építőipari zRt., and the project aims to improve the stadium’s surroundings and increase its capacity.

The Local Government of Nyíregyháza is carrying out a comprehensive car park and road renovation project in the area between the stadium. The project involves the modernisation of the service road on the west side of the City Stadium, as well as the creation of new parking spaces.

The winner of the public procurement <a href="https://ted.europa.eu/hu/notice/-/detail/269525-2026" target="_blank" procedure was "KE-VÍZ 21" Építőipari zRt., which secured the construction contract with a bid of 315 million forints. The project has a completion deadline of four months; work may commence following the handover of the site.

More than 180 parking spaces and bus bays are also being built

As part of the project, a total of 187 parking spaces will be created, comprising 124 new spaces, 57 refurbished car parking spaces and 6 bus parking spaces. The works will involve the demolition of the existing rows of garages and the establishment of a new, standardised parking layout.

The technical scope of the project includes the construction of a rainwater drainage system, the installation of approximately 530 metres of street lighting, as well as the implementation of related utility relocations and green space improvements.

The development aims to create a more orderly environment around the stadium

Our newspaper recently reported on a development project that has been completed just outside the immediate vicinity of the stadium: HE-DO has created a long-awaited roundabout at the junction of Stadion Street, Kótaji Road, Hímes Street and Vasvári Pál Street.

The current project is aimed at the comprehensive development of the area surrounding the stadium, which will improve transport links and increase the capacity of the parking infrastructure in the long term.

The project is expected to contribute to the smoother management of event-related traffic and to raising the standard of the city’s infrastructure.
