The Csepel Workers’ Home was built in the late 1910s through the collective efforts and donations of the local working class, and has been one of the centres of the district’s cultural and community life for decades.
Its ornate theatre hall, as the complex’s premier venue, plays a key role in hosting local artistic performances, community events and concerts. However, ensuring that this iconic building is operated in a modern manner, in line with today’s energy efficiency and comfort standards, has made it essential to carry out a comprehensive modernisation of the building services systems, which are several decades old and have become obsolete.
They are developing a comprehensive system
Csepeli Városfejlesztési és Gazdaságfejlesztési Nonprofit Kft. tender for the refurbishment of the mechanical, cooling and heating systems in the theatre hall of the Csepel Workers" Home. The contract was awarded to THERMIK PLUS Műszaki, Kereskedelmi és Generál Kivitelező Zrt. with a bid of 214 million forints net.
The main elements of the project are:
- Dismantling and replacing obsolete systems: The dismantling and professional removal of old, obsolete asbestos-cement and other drainage pipes, disused ventilation ducts, air filters and ageing mechanical equipment.
- State-of-the-art air-handling and ventilation systems: Installation of new ventilation and air-handling units, as well as large-scale air ducts and ductwork, to ensure an adequate supply of fresh air and proper ventilation in the auditorium.
- Air-conditioning and heating and cooling: Installation of modern, high-performance outdoor VRF cooling/heating systems, including the construction of the bespoke vibration-damping support structures required for these and crane operations.
- Insulation and mains connection: Thermal insulation of the entire pipe network using synthetic rubber and an aluminium protective casing, as well as a secure connection to the existing sewerage network.
