The Baja southern bypass project may enter a new phase
Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium has published a call for tenders in the EU Public Procurement Bulletin for the construction of the southern bypass road in Baja call for tenders for the construction of the Baja southern bypass. According to the description, the future winner will be responsible for the construction of the Baja southern bypass and the Baja 5501 j. road – Nagy István utca roundabout junction, as well as the renovation of the related roads.
Main elements of the investment
It will be the responsibility of the winning bidder:
- Building a new trail: 4 km long, 2×1 lane Baja southern bypass with main road parameters;
- Correction of related roads: a total length of about 1.7 km;
- Establishment of service roads: 2.4 km with 2×1 lanes;
- Cycling and walking facilities: 0.2 km of footpaths and cycle paths, and 1.2 km of independent cycle paths;
- Construction of roundabouts: 3 single-lane roundabouts and 1 multi-lane roundabout;
- Redevelopment of the hub: conversion of the intersection of road 5501 j. - Baja, Nagy István street into a roundabout;
- Road renovation: reconstruction and design of a section of road 5501 j. of about 0.8 km.
During works involving noise, the contractor must carry out continuous noise measurements at least once every two weeks. If the measured value exceeds the permissible limit, a noise abatement plan must be drawn up, for example by means of a mobile noise barrier, the use of quieter machinery or changes to the work organisation.
The deadline for receipt of tenders is 22 September 2025.
