The development also includes resurfacing, traffic calming measures and the creation of green spaces.

A complex public space renovation project is underway on Szív Street and its surroundings in Terézváros, District VI of Budapest, carried out by HE-DO. The aim of the investment is to improve traffic safety, renew the streetscape and increase the everyday comfort of those living in the area.

The development affects the section of Szív Street between Aradi Street and Andrássy Avenue, as well as the Szív Street–Aradi Street intersection, covering a total area of approximately 1,100 square metres. The project consists of two main phases: the renovation of the street and the intersection will be carried out in a coordinated manner.

Safer and tidier public spaces are created

At the junction, the asphalt pavement will be replaced with paving stones, and a traffic-calming threshold will also be built. The former moulded asphalt pavement of the pavement will also be replaced with paving stones, and planters will also be installed. The road surface will be replaced with a 5-centimetre-thick layer, the pavements on both sides will be renewed, a fire hydrant will be relocated, and planters, small fences and new street furniture will also be installed.

Work commenced on 2 December 2025. The first phase involved the construction of the junction, including the pavement and roadworks. This was followed by the renovation of the pavement on the even-numbered side of the street, and construction of the pavement on the odd-numbered side is currently underway. The next phase will involve replacing the road surface, followed by the installation of street furniture, planting and the final traffic engineering elements to complete the project.

There are one and a half to two months left for the work.

The investment is being financed from municipal funds, with the client being the Terézváros Local Government, without the involvement of consortium partners. The development primarily serves to improve traffic conditions and modernise outdated road surfaces, while the new road surfaces and green areas also improve the aesthetic appearance of the environment.

One of the unique features of the project is its short construction period: the work will be completed in one and a half to two months. According to the plans, construction will be completed in January 2026, with the project expected to be finalised in February.
