Building for the future with a focus on the AGO-Steel

Published

While the construction industry is facing challenges this year, the Hungarian company is looking for opportunities in all areas and is also looking for professional support for its employees. They continue their dual training programme and two of their colleagues recently won a podium in a welding competition.

We regularly report on the projects of AGO-Steel Kft.. The Dombóvár-based Hungarian steel structure manufacturing and installation company has recently worked as a subcontractor on major projects such as reconstruction of the central, most recently completed section of the M3 metro line in Budapest (the SWIETELSKY Építő Kft. was the main contractor for the construction of the stations, while SWIETELSKY Vasúttechnika Kft. was the main contractor for the renovation of the tunnels and tracks); and they also participated in the construction of the German Rheinmetall tank factory in Zalaegerszeg Lynx (here, the ZÁÉV Zrt. and KÉSZ Csoport were commissioned to carry out the work). Most recently, we reported on a project in which the company was commissioned by MPC Steeltrade Ltd. manufacturing hall in Transdanubia.

The AGO-Steel achieves all this in a year when domestic construction companies are facing significant challenges - points out Miklós Agócs, CEO. Circumstances in the sector have been difficult due to a significant drop in orders and low volumes of new contracts, making it difficult to stay afloat and potentially grow in such an environment.

Preserve the family atmosphere of the company

In Dombóvár, talking at the company's plant, this is less obvious. Miklós Agócs reminds us:"it is said that hard times breed strong people". The steel structure plant is well-utilised, production is continuous and the company manager occasionally stops to talk to his colleagues. He stresses that he is focused on building a company that is credible, reliable and of high quality. "We'd rather lose money than trust: I envisioned a family-run company from the very beginning, and that's what we're achieving."

Professional competition and dual training

As the interview revealed, with the AGO-Steel Kft. they focus on the potential, they want to see the potential and they believe that there is more to be done. In this spirit, they are also focused on building for the future: as we learn, it was in this spirit that two of the company's colleagues entered the 2023 Transdanubian Regional Welding Competition in September with their support, achieving outstanding performances. Both of them were podium finishers, winning the gold and bronze medals.

In his summary, Miklós Agócs also told our newspaper: for the second year now, they have been offering dual training, which includes training for locksmiths and welders. Finally, he lists the works and timetables currently underway. "I think that AGO-Steel Kft. is a refutation of the national statistics. We are working in many different parts of Hungary and we have a number of projects in the pipeline right now. The way to live in today's times is to look ahead and find inspiration in every challenge."
