One of Europe's largest animal feed factories expanded in Bük

Nestlé's capacity expansion project worth around HUF 90 billion was inaugurated in the West Hungarian city.

The development of one of the continent's largest pet food factory complex on the continent continued in Bük, Vas County. On 5 October, the Swiss-owned Nestlé Hungária Kft. capacity expansion investment, worth a total of HUF 90 billion, was handed over. It was announced at the event that the capacity of the hobby pet food manufacturer's site will continue to expand, and the completed project has created 280 new jobs.

Peter Noszek, the company's Managing Director summarized:"Nestlé PURINA's factory in Bükk, one of the largest employers in the region, will create more than 500 new jobs in the town between 2020 and 2025 thanks to its dynamic development and continuous investments."

The CEO stressed that the development of the plant in Bükk, which is equipped with unique manufacturing technology, will not stop, and construction will continue.

The whole complex runs on green energy

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó reminded at the ceremony that Nestlé, which is present in 77 countries around the world, sells 90% of its products on foreign markets, so Hungarian export performance will continue to grow.

He then pointed out that the electricity for the factory will be provided by renewable sources, which will contribute to Hungary's future position among the twenty countries that can increase their gross domestic product (GDP) while reducing their emissions.
