Its two furnaces can produce up to 550 tonnes of packaging bottles per day for the local and international market.

Three factories are being built in Kaposvár at the same time, the first of its kind in the city - the mayor of the Somogy county town announced on his Facebook page.

Károly Szita (Fidesz-KDNP) reported that a local company, Szabó Fogaske jewellery manufacturer Kft., is building a new production hall on Füredi road. He pointed out that the Chinese Jiecang Group, a manufacturer of linear motors, is "building" a production hall opposite the company's investment, and that the company's European distribution centre will also be located there. The Mayor also pointed out that the largest greenfield investment in the history of Kaposvár is the construction of the glass factory of the Turkish company Sisecam.

The Hungarian company has outgrown its 3,500 square metre hall

The Szabó Fogaskerékgyártó Kft., which assembles high-quality gears and gearboxes, is spending HUF 2.5 billion to build its 5,000 square metre, energy-efficient hall, which will be completed this autumn. Krisztián Szabó, managing director of the company, which last year achieved a turnover of around HUF 3 billion and a profit of HUF 400 million, justified the need for the construction at the groundbreaking ceremony held this spring by saying that the company had "outgrown" its 3,500 square metre hall thanks to its dynamic growth.

They currently have 50 employees, and the number will be increased in line with growing production needs, with the new production hall providing employment for up to 100 people, he said.

The new factory will produce 500,000 smart office motion systems per year

At a press conference held last August, senior representatives of the Chinese linear hydraulic components manufacturer Jiecang Linear Motion Technology Co. Ltd. announced that the company's investment in Kaposvár is expected to cost more than €60 million and will be completed by the end of 2024.

The company's main profile is the development, manufacture and sale of products for linear motion. The new factory is expected to produce 500,000 smart office mobility systems and 150,000 healthcare mobility systems per year. The investment will create 200 jobs, and the company expects the Kaposvár plant to generate annual sales of €80 million.

Up to 550 tonnes of packaging glass can be produced daily

The Sisecam is being built in Kaposvár's eastern industrial park, and the 112,000-square-metre glass factory will cost €400 million to complete, according to the company's technical manager, who said last June.

When full capacity is reached, the factory will employ 350 people and its two furnaces will produce up to 550 tonnes of packaging bottles per day, including beverage and jars, for the local and international markets.
