The Gödöllő Reformed Lyceum will be rebuilt and extended with a total of 14 new rooms on behalf of the Dunamelléki Reformed Church District.

In addition to four classrooms and three specialist classrooms, storage rooms, three group rooms, an assembly hall and a dining room will be located in the new wing of the Gödöllő Reformed Lyceum, which will then be connected to the existing building. According to the public procurement notice announcement, the first phase of this large-scale project will be implemented by BAUSZER Építő, Kereskedelmi és Szolgáltató Kft..

The existing school building was built 98 years ago

The school opened in 1992. It is maintained by the Reformed parish of Gödöllő and is housed in the building of the Reformed elementary school built in 1927. The Gödöllő Reformed Lyceum, which ranks highly among Hungarian schools, has more than 5,000 students.

Lift to be installed in the new building

According to the call for tenders, the contractor will renovate the existing part of building A and also build a new wing D. The latter will house, on the ground floor, a canteen, a restaurant and a cafeteria, among other things. It will also house the auditorium and a large hall for school events. The first and second floors of the building, which will be equipped with lifts, will house classrooms and group rooms for the development of students.

The schoolyard will also be rebuilt

A walkway will provide access between the new wing and Building A. The contractor's tasks will include the construction of the schoolyard. This will be carried out on the side of the institution facing Liberty Square.
In phase I of the project, according to the tender, the institution will be extended with a new wing of the building, consisting of a ground floor and 2 floors, i.e. 1857 square metres.

On the first floor there will be four classrooms, a classroom and a group room. On the next floor there will be two more classrooms connected to the classrooms and two additional group rooms.

The contractor will also have to deal with the old building

The project includes the construction of the extension of the existing school building, which includes water supply, sewerage, central heating and cooling, and artificial ventilation.
The new part of the building can be constructed with a reinforced concrete pillar frame,
with masonry frame infill. According to preliminary calculations, Phase I of the extension will require about 1,530 cubic metres of excavation, 173 tonnes of reinforcing steel installation, in addition to about 4,335 square metres of formwork.

The surface area to be covered will exceed 3400 square metres, and the interior painting will cover about 5660 square metres of wall surface. In the school yard, an irrigation system will be installed, landscaping and paving will be carried out over an area of nearly 2000 square metres.

The first phase of the expansion could be completed by 2026.
