More than 28 kilometres of road are being renovated in Békés – another section has been handed over

The Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt. has initiated the complete renovation of more than 28 kilometres of secondary roads on 12 road sections in Békés County with EU TOP Plusz support, according to information sent to our newspaper today. The company will be able to implement the projects with the help of gross funding of HUF 11.310 billion under three contracts: among other things, on a total of approximately 1,300 kilometres of the 4441 Nagybánhegyes-Kaszaper connecting road in the south-eastern corner of Békés County.

The contractor for the project was selected through a public procurement procedure Duna Aszfalt Zrt. (as can be read here ), which carried out the investment for a net cost of approximately 298.98 million forints.

This is how the road renovation was completed

As part of the renovation work, the road surface was completely modernised with a two-layer reinforced asphalt surface covering an area of 7,800 m2, and the deteriorated sections of the road structure that had lost their load-bearing capacity were replaced locally over an area of 3,593 m2. New paving was laid at the bus stop pair located on the section, and attention was also paid to levelling at the road junctions.
