Bound track
Spring maintenance begins at Déli Railway Station
Due to spring maintenance, rail traffic will be suspended at Déli Railway Station on 7 and 8 March and on 28 and 29 March, according to MÁV Zrt..
According to the announcement
The maintenance of the tracks and equipment at Déli Railway Station will be carried out over two weekends by around 100 specialists, using small track maintenance machines, railway trains and special machine chains.
During the works, passenger trains will not be able to run between Déli Railway Station and Kelenföld, so on 7 and 8 March, as well as on 28 and 29 March, there will be significant changes to the timetable of railway lines affecting Déli Railway Station, they emphasised.
Between Déli Railway Station and Kelenföld, MÁV buses will run every 15 minutes to assist passengers with their journey.
They also announced that before work begins, trains travelling to Kelenföld will run on a shorter route late on Friday evening, and some early Monday morning trains will also depart from Kelenföld.
In addition, due to the clock change on 29 March, some trains will also be running differently, departing later from Kelenföld or intermediate stations while waiting for the clock to be adjusted, they wrote.
Comprehensive track and facility maintenance
They announced that the works would include replacing rails, concrete sleepers and wooden sleepers, as well as crushed stone replacement, ballast cleaning and replacement, and switch and track adjustments on the railway network.
Approximately 1,500 square metres of surface area at both ends of the platform will also be asphalted; part of the overhead line network will be inspected and cables replaced; bridge engineers will inspect the tunnel and retaining walls; trees posing a hazard to rail traffic will be cut down; maintenance and major cleaning will be carried out in the passenger compartments, on the steps, platforms, platform roofs and platform furniture, they listed.
Noisy renovations are scheduled for daytime hours so as not to disturb the peace and quiet of local residents at night.
The railway company will finance the approximately 150 million HUF cost of the investment from its own resources, according to the announcement.
