The upgraded track sections, new connecting track, electrified connection and modern loading terminal will serve the growing capacity needs of the industrial park.

The Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium was published in the EU Public Procurement Bulletin published in the EU Public Procurement Bulletin. The Nyíregyháza Industrial Park rail transport connections. The work, worth HUF 2.3 billion, will be carried out by Ring Mérnöki Iroda Kft.. The contract was signed on 11 February 2026, with 1,270 days available for the work.

As previously mentioned, the first phase of the giant investment project in Nyíregyháza was completed at the beginning of the year, laying the foundation for further developments. Work will continue with phase II , which includes the development of the industrial park's general infrastructure, the development of the public utility yard and sewage treatment plant, as well as the development of water utility transmission lines and waterworks.

Confirmed route and new connecting link in the Nyíregyháza area

During the design of the railway connections planning of railway connections, the successful tenderer shall be responsible for preparing the permit, implementation and tender plans, as well as volumes III, IV and V of the public procurement documentation suitable for implementation, and for conducting the permit procedures for all necessary disciplines.

The design concerns the section of railway line 113 between Nyíregyháza and Mátészalka, where the railway track must be redesigned to ensure an axle load of 225 kN from section 8+48 hm to section 76+00 hm of Nyíregyháza station.

In order to ensure accessibility from Nyíregyháza, a new connecting delta track with a permitted speed of V=40 km/h must be designed in the vicinity of the 2650+00 hm section of railway line 100 (Debrecen – Nyíregyháza) to connect the right and left tracks.

Modern loading capacity is being built

As part of the project, the station's layout and terminal loading functions also need to be designed. Three tracks will be built at the terminal, two of which must be accessible by crane to ensure container transhipment. A 15,200 square metre paved area will be constructed for short-term container storage.

In addition, a 300-metre loading track must be constructed for conventional freight wagons, with a front loader and a loading area of 5,900 square metres.

The line will be electrified to the industrial park

During the investment, the railway line must be electrified from Nyíregyháza station to the Industrial Park, and the necessary interventions must also be carried out at the junction of railway line 100. A new bridge and associated road network must be designed for the separate-level crossing of Simai Road and the two railway lines.

Additional tasks include the reconstruction planning of the section of railway line 113 from kilometre 76+00 to Nagykálló station, the planning of the reconstruction of structures over watercourses and a level crossing, and the planning of an estimated 35 sidings.
