Speciality glass company opens second production centre in Lukácsháza
The HUF 28 billion production hall in Lukácsháza, Vas County, where SCHOTT Hungary Kft. manufactures pharmaceutical packaging products, prefillable glass syringes, has been inaugurated. The project was supported by the government with more than HUF 3.3 billion.
At the event, Krisztina Varju, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MoFA), said that the health industry has become the most important industry after the coronavirus epidemic. The politician added that SCHOTT Hungary Kft. has expanded its capacity with the newly implemented development by manufacturing high added value products, such as prefillable sterile glass syringes. These products were previously manufactured by SCHOTT Pharma only in Switzerland, and now it has set up a second production centre in Lukácsháza.
Production capacity doubled with the plant in Lukácsháza
According to Frank Heinricht, CEO of SCHOTT AG, the new plant in Lukácsháza will double the production capacity that they have achieved with their Swiss plant.
Andreas Reisse, Managing Director of SCHOTT Pharma, presented the company's innovative prefillable glass syringes, which allow for the safe storage and quick and easy administration of state-of-the-art medicines.
Balázs Vizi, Managing Director of SCHOTT Hungary Kft., recalled that
30 years ago, they started with 39 employees in Lukácsháza, and today they have 700.
Even when they are part of a multinational group, they try to create a family atmosphere, not only offering their colleagues a living, but also a predictable future and training," he said.
The plant area has quadrupled
SCHOTT Hungary has been present in Lukácsháza since 1993, the plant has been continuously expanding and has quadrupled in area over the years, currently covering 26,000 square metres. 97 percent of the company's products are sold abroad.
