The MKIF has begun work on the construction of the new M1 junction by milling away the wearing course, binder course and base course.

Alongside the demolition of the road, work is also continuing on the construction of new junction structures: support pillars, the cycle underpass and the embankment for the slip road – according to the MKIF social media page.

„We expect to move 6,000 cubic metres of earth on this section alone; in some places we will excavate the track to a depth of 100–120 centimetres and completely rebuild it,” they write.
